Weekend Review No.14- Almost upsets almost everywhere.

March 10, 2013

Good evening to all readers and welcome to my review of the weekend. On the dock today are the usual weekly Football, some Cricket and the Rugby.

First of all, football, where a mouthwatering FA Cup is lining up as the winner of the replay between Manchester United and Chelsea have the joy of playing Manchester City in the next round. It looks like a thrilling year in English Cup competition will continue. Meanwhile, the Magpies stole a 2-1 win at home with a last minute Cisse goal snatching the win from the usual bandits Stoke City. This great form will hopefully continue into our match against Anzhi Makchakalalalalalaalalalalalalalala on Thursday. Arsenal are also closing in on signing Yaya…Sanogo. Unfortunately not the fractionally more talented Toure.

In cricket, the walkover that was expected did not materialise as New Zealand almost beat England, with a stalwart second innings needed to stave off the Kiwis. I’d love it if New Zealand could upset the odds again and hopefully win the next test. It might be the right time for England to get shocked before the Ashes this Summer which they’ll need to peak for against a highly improving Oz side (sadly ‘Oz’ was not product placement for the movie out now although I’m open to offers- Hollywood?)

Italy sadly could also not beat England in the rugby although I daresay we were lucky to escape with the win after some severe pressure from the Azzuri. Ireland and France played out a rare draw on Saturday which annoyingly Captain Marvel O’Driscoll didn’t play quite so marvellously in. I’d still love to see him be Captain of the Lions though… Wales kept their hopes alive by beating Scotland and the title deciding match against England next week is gong to be formidable.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed my review. If you did, remember to like and follow if you want to see more! See you on Wednesday!
