Weekend Review No.2

December 2, 2012

Another exciting weekend of sport has passed us by and I feel I can only give my professional opinion on matters:

Firstly, the rugby held perhaps the most surprising result of all- a stunning performance by England to pummel the world champions 38-21. It was completely unexpected and to be applauded, however, I can’t help but feel as though the result was a one off and optimism for the Six Nations should not be forthcoming.

Next, snooker, and the beginning of the UK championship. A comfortable win for Higgins was overshadowed by a surprise defeat for Ding Junhui, although without the hero of the sport that is Ronnie the Rocket, the competition is missing something and will need a big personality to excite me.

Football is last on the agenda for today and  there was a smashing first 35 minutes between Manchester United and Reading that saw 7 goals, although the rest of the match was an anticlimax that petered out to 4-3 to the Red Devils. Everton put in a great effort to draw with the reigning champions City, but had the ref sorted his act out and actually watched the match, the Citizens would never have been able to secure the penalty that got them a draw by the final whistle. Shock defeats for Arsenal (who are now languishing in 10th) and Chelsea (Benitez OUT anyone?) capped off a bizarre week in the realm of sport.

Let’s hope that next week is just as entertaining. Thanks for reading, like and follow so you don’t miss me on Wednesday!
